WEST POWELTON SAUNDERS PARKÂ FALL FLING
September 14th 10AM-4PM
Come join us for a day of fun at our WEST POWELTON SAUNDERS PARK FALL FLING, Saturday, September 14th from 10am to 4pm!
We will have live entertainment, food, music, vendors and representatives from community organizations, plus contests & activities for all ages!
THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON POWELTON AVENUE BETWEEN SLOAN STREET AND 43RD STREET FROM 10AM TO 4PM.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CARS WILL NEED TO BE MOVED BY 8AM THE MORNING OF THE EVENT, but we are pleased to share that we will be providing parking. Community members & guests attending the event are welcome to park their cars in THE SURFACE LOT ACROSS FROM THE PENN PRESBYTERIAN PARKING GARAGE (corner of Sloan St & Powelton Ave) and THE SURFACE LOT ACROSS FROM THE IMMIGRATION SERVICES BUILDING (23 N 41st St, Philadelphia, PA 19104) while the street is closed for the event between the hours of 8-5pm.
Setup for the event will begin at 8am, and cleanup will conclude at 5pm. The event is free to attend. All vendors and participants will be responsible for cleaning up their own areas.
Members of the community are welcome to set up flea market tables, and local vendors are welcome. As this is our first year doing this event, community members and vendors are welcome to set up booths FREE OF CHARGE. In place of a vendor fee, we ask that you make an optional donation to our community CLEAN & SAFE INITIATIVE.

Flea market participants will be provided with a purple tablecloth and assigned a space on the north side of Powelton Avenue, but we ask that you provide your own tables, etc. Vendors will be assigned a space on the south side of the street. Confirmation of your exact location will be sent out in advance of the event.

WORK-N-PLAY AT LEE PARK 2024
June 1st 11am-3pm
WE WILL BE HOSTING A WORK-N-PLAY AT LEE PARK AND CULTURAL CENTER SATURDAY, JUNE 1st 2024 FROM 11am-3pm, SPONSORED BY WEST POWELTON SAUNDERS PARK-FRIENDS OF LEE CULTURAL FIELD.

Our objective is to enjoy the Summer Beauty of this Park while removing more weeds and debris; painting the safety posts; planting some flowers and cleaning the tennis courts, which we have received a permit and permission to use.
Feel free to invite others, bring lawn chairs, popup canopies, rakes, and any other gardening tools that may be useful. JOIN US AND COME HAVE FUN!

A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANIZER OF OUR LAST CLEANUP:
We would like to thank everyone who came out for Philadelphia’s Annual Spring Clean Up on April 6th. For those who were unable to attend, we hope you can join us for future Park events. The weather was a bit chilly and windy, but we had a good time and over the course of the day 72 people came out to volunteer. We made great progress collecting approximately 150 bags of trash, leaves, and debris; the Park looked noticeably better after we were through.
On June 1st 2024 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, we will be hosting another Work -N-Play Cleanup at Lee Park and Cultural Center, to continue our support for this green space.
